Looking for what isn’t there, A Digital History of the History of Woman Suffrage UCLA Department of History, October 23, 2014.
This work is done in conjunction with Alexander Street Press as part of my role as a digital history member of the editorial board of Women and Social Movements.  The project explores a combination of approaches, ranging from metadata analysis to semantic tagging (Wmatrix) and computational linguistics (Antconc), to look for evidence of gender in the six-volume History of Woman Suffrage when the word gender appears in only twenty-four of the over eight hundred items.
