in the morass of research.  I must keep firmly focused on why I’m writing this book

I want to know how the relationship between culture and power has been construed by historians since about 1973 onward.  How do they define culture?  how do they see women having power?  I want to understand how that compares with contemporaneous feminist activists’ ideas about culture and power, and because I think that understanding the historians’ perspective helps to understand how activists who used women’s culture were discredited in hsitories of the womens’ movement.

p.s. i wonder if searching “sex wars” is going to get me flagged 🙂
